‘It made my life and my year’: Jeff Goldblum gets utterly starstruck meeting Beatles legend Paul McCartney backstage on Broadway

During his visit to the show, Goldblum had the opportunity to meet the play’s leading man, George Clooney, and other stars backstage. Among these celebrities was the 82-year-old McCartney, marking the first time Goldblum had seen the musician in person.

According to People, the Jurassic Park actor expressed his excitement about the encounter, itting to feeling starstruck. When describing the interaction, Goldblum shared McCartney’s enthusiastic response to seeing him, recalling the musician’s words: “Jeff, Jeff Goldblum. I love Jeff Goldblum. Come here, Jeff, let’s take a picture.” The actor added that the experience “made my life and my year.”

Goldblum shares childhood memories of the Beatles’ influence

The encounter prompted Goldblum to reminisce about his childhood connection to the Beatles’ music. He shared a personal story about listening to iconic Beatles songs from the band that remains culturally relevant decades after their peak, like “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “She Loves You,” when he was 12 or 13 years old, alongside memories of a friend named Suzy Connolly.

During the interview, Goldblum humorously mentioned that while he couldn’t if he and McCartney shook hands, he joked about potentially grabbing the musician’s entire arm if they did. He even demonstrated this gesture on host Seth Meyers, playfully suggesting he might never have washed his hands afterward.
